In many cases, Microsoft Word or Apple Pages is used to write texts. When text is copied from such a program, there is a chance that 'hidden formatting' is carried over. This 'hidden formatting' can affect the way email messages are displayed in the Email editor and at the recipient's end once the email has been sent.
When copying content from MS Word into the STBcrm Email editor, observe the following best practices:
-
Use the 'Paste as text' function: This function ensures that all formatting is removed when you paste text into the editor. After pasting, the text can easily be formatted using the available functions.
- Manually cleaning up formatting: Alternatively, you can consider pasting your text into a plain text editor (Notepad) before pasting it into the Email editor. This can help remove excess (hidden) formatting codes generated by Word.
-
Use the Edit HTML source function: If you are familiar with HTML, you can edit the source code directly in the Email editor. This can be useful for removing unwanted formatting or adding more advanced formatting.
To avoid a lot of editing steps, we advise you to make as much use as possible of standard templates with fixed text blocks and formatting. This saves you a lot of manual work and ensures consistency in your outgoing communication.
