In the lists and the tabs you can add columns yourself and adjust their width. This can occasionally result in a messy layout.
To tidy everything up in one go, click the menu of any column and choose 'Auto-size all columns'
This aligns the columns neatly.
If you want to go back to the initial state completely, you can do so with 'Reset columns'
